Ambulance crews rushed to Wesley Road in Armley to reports of unconscious man

A bystander said that an elderly man was discovered unconscious on Wesley Road at about 3pm, near St Bartholomew's Church.

She said police attended to the man and cordoned off the scene before ambulance crews arrived.

Paramedics were seen performing CPR before taking the man into hospital.

The eyewitness said: "I asked one of the policemen if he was breathing and they said he was, before the man was put into the ambulance."

West Yorkshire Police has been contacted for comment.
