Youngsters enjoyed the fun of the great outdoors indoors as the popular Springtime Live showcase returned to the Great Yorkshire showground.

Children were given the chance to get up close to owls, chicks and lambs as thousands of people flocked to the event which focuses on the best of countryside and rural life.

CBeebies favourite Mr Bloom entertained the crowds at the showground this weekend.

And visitors were also able to try a variety of hands-on activities and workshops based on a Spring, new life and rural themes.

Nigel Pulling, chief executive of Yorkshire Agricultural Society, said. “A lot of people are living a very urbanised life and don’t come across farm animals on a day to day basis.”
