West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a concern for welfare in the park shortly after 1pm.

A total of seven fire engines from across Leeds - including stations at Killingbeck, Moortown and Rothwell - attended alongside a water rescue unit from Leeds Fire Station.

Other emergency services including the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and West Yorkshire Police also attended the incident at the park.

Following an extensive search of the area, the fire service said there was "no cause for concern".

The emergency services left the scene shortly before 3pm.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokespersons said: "We were called to reports of a concern for welfare in Roundhay Park, Leeds this afternoon at 13.16.

"Four fire engines attended - the water rescue unit from Leeds Fire Station and one appliance each from Killingbeck, Moortown and Rothwell fire stations.

"Partners from Yorkshire Ambulance Service and West Yorkshire Police were also on the scene.

"Our crews and partners carried out a search of the area and found there was no cause for concern.

"We left at 14.46."

West Yorkshire Police confirmed they had stood down from the incident.
