ROUNDHAY Park is set to host an eighth annual Dragon Boat Challenge to raise cash for Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Around 450 people will take to the water for the fundraising event on Sunday May 17.

More than 40 crews will race 30ft brightly painted Chinese boats over a 200m course on Waterloo Lake at Roundhay Park. Businesses and organisations from across Yorkshire will be represented, including event sponsors First Group and Unite.

Bob Dorr, First’s business manager in Leeds said “This is an amazing day and First, together with Unite, are proud to support such an important charity at the heart of our community.”
