Hundreds of ale fans descended on Adel over the weekend for the suburb’s annual beer festival which this year had a theme of rugby league.

The festival, held at Adel War Memorial Association, featured a selection of ales and ciders from breweries representing rugby league towns and cities across the country.

New to the festival this year was also a gin and prosecco tent, supported by Majestic Wine Warehouse. Beers were chosen by the local Kirkstall Brewery and all profits from the event will go to Adel Cricket Club.

Andrew Audsley, one of the organisers, said: “It’s been a fantastic event - very well attended, probably getting on for 900 people attending.

“We’ve had lots of appreciation of the beer and the music. And the gin and prosecco tent has gone down fantastic with the girls - and some of the guys.”
