A MUM from Ackworth near Pontefract will brave the waters of Lake Windermere to swim in memory of her daughter who lost her battle with cystic fibrosis.

Becci Marley died from the illness aged 27 in June 2009.

Her mother Sue, 57, and friends Maggie Jewitt, 53, and Emma Parsons, 35, will swim two miles in the lake on Sunday June 15 to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Sue Marley said: “The training is hard, but the struggles I watched Becci face in her short life spur me on.”
