Accused pleads ‘not guilty’ over Leeds park murder

A man accused of the murder of a man whose body was found in a park in Leeds has appeared in court.

The body of 57-year-old Waldek Mural was discovered in Burley Park last September. A post-mortem examination found he died from multiple injuries.

Grzegorz Kowalczyk, 41, from Headingley, pleaded not guilty to his murder when he appeared at Leeds Crown Court via video link on Tuesday.

He was remanded in custody to face trial on April 11.

Two other men were who were initially arrested were later released without charge.
