Celebrations got under way yesterday (Nov 27) as the 300-day countdown for the arrival of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in the region began.

To mark the countdown, cyclists converged in Bradford city centre, which will in September host the start of the Women’s Elite Race.

Leeds will host the start of the Men’s Elite Road Race on September 29.

And the event organisers, Yorkshire 2019, are now also on the look-out for 2,000 ‘Yorkshire Champions’ from the region to help ensure the race runs smoothly.

Volunteers are being sought for a variety of roles and will be given training.
