25,000 people get ready to dance under world's biggest disco ball in Leeds

THE COUNTDOWN is on for the Yorkshire Festival, with quirky events encompassing everything from talking statues and chip shop plays in the pipeline.

The festival, which runs from June 16 to July 3, will include performances across the county – with some of the best right here in Leeds.

One event that’s caught everyone’s attention is the Big Disco. Coming to Duke Studios on July 1, it will feature the world’s largest disco ball, carnival performers, street food and DJ sets from the likes of Craig Charles and Greg Wilson as well as a performance from Yorkshire’s own Utah Saints.

The main event will see 25,000 people simultaneously dancing around the disco ball.

Laura Wellington, director at Duke Studios, said: “We have carefully selected this line-up to reflect the musical tastes and interests of all people in this wonderful region.

“The Big Disco is all about community and bringing people together to share one epic moment.”
