Leeds property news: Top marks for grammar school development

With 60 per cent of homes sold, the first wave of buyers now moved in, ten more completions due by the end of July and locals popping in to say how much they like the development, it seems like Bellway Yorkshire’s Grammar School Gardens in Penistone is heading straight to the top of the class.

Transforming the former site of the South Yorkshire town’s secondary school on Huddersfield Road, the development features a mix of four bedroom new build family homes, plus one, two and three bedroom converted homes in two characterful period properties – Wierfield House and The Stables.

Commenting on the site’s success, Melanie Smith, Bellway Yorkshire’s sales manager, said: “Right from the very beginning we’ve known Grammar School Gardens had everything going for it. “In fact, the only concern I’ve ever had about the development is that because there are only 34-homes it’ll sell so quickly the first thing some people may know about it is that it’s sold out.”

Amongst the remaining homes at Grammar School Gardens are three Fulford townhouses, which Melanie describes as “tremendous properties”.

The Fulford’s all combine traditional design and eco-friendly building techniques to deliver homes that are ideal for modern day living. Built in natural stone across three floors, they are spacious, airy and provide the kind of flexibility people want from their homes. If that wasn’t enough all three are available to buy on the extraordinary Bellway Plus deal, which the company has just extended by a fortnight to include all reservations made before June 1st, 2015. What this means is that each of the four bedroom Fulfords, which are available for £249,995, are being offered with £1,000 towards legal fees, £2,000 towards stamp duty, £500 to be spent on a survey and £500 for removals, plus landscaped gardens and flooring. And, of course, they can be purchased using either Bellway’s ever popular Part Exchange (PX) scheme or the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
