FOR Yorkshire home hunters, the eye-catching way one company is marking the county’s starring role in this summer’s Tour de France promises to be the “wheel deal”.

For Linley & Simpson, the residential sales and letting agency with a branch network that takes in the routes of Le Grand Depart on July 5 and 6, has launched a limited edition of signboards to celebrate the event.

The customised signage, which features a cut-out of the iconic yellow jersey, was unveiled this week at the Cow and Calf Rocks on Ilkley Moor to bring some ooh-la-la to the Yorkshire landmark ahead of the final countdown to the race start.

Between now and the end of the world’s most televised sporting event, the boards will be a common sight outside hundreds of properties for sale and for rent across West and North Yorkshire.

They will be available to clients across all 10 of the independent agency’s offices – Harrogate, Ripon, Wetherby, York, Ilkley, Saltaire, Wakefield, Roundhay, Horsforth and Leeds city centre.

Director Will Linley said: “As a company with our roots firmly embedded in Yorkshire, we wanted to add our own dimension to the way the county is throwing its support behind this once-in-a-lifetime sporting occasion. “The event is already capturing the public’s imagination in so many ways and our offices are reporting an upsurge of interest in those properties with ‘front row seats’ that line the route. “By giving our ‘For Sale’ and ‘To Let’ signs a new look, we hope they will help raise the profile of the event even further and bring it to life on many street corners across the community. Linley & Simpson is offering all new sales and rental clients the chance to win a holiday worth £2,014. And 10 staff will do a charity cycle on May 16.
