Members of the Manning Stainton team went on the run to help raise money for charity.

Lesley Alexander, Simone Si Mohamed and Deborah Cundill joined nearly 500 other athletes for the 25th running of the Puma Pudsey 10K which started at the Cenotaph and finished in Pudsey Park, taking in roads and countryside around the area.

The race was organised by the Pudsey Pacers Running Club who, with the help of Manning Stainton and other generous sponsors, raised over £4,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Support. This takes the total raised for the charity during the quarter century history of the event to £25,000.

Lesley Alexander, a Sales Negotiator at the firm’s Pudsey branch says: “That was really hard work but I cannot think of a more worthwhile reason to put yourself through the pain barrier. The atmosphere around the course was brilliant and so was the encouragement, which helped Simone and me to finish in just over the hour mark. Deborah did even better, finishing in around 57 minutes.”

The 10K race was the highlight of the day which also included a race for Under eights and a separate family fun run.

Mark Manning, sales director at the area’s leading estate agent adds: “The way the girls embraced this event is typical of how the entire team gets behind the various fund raising initiatives we undertake.

“We were delighted to be honoured for our work in the communities we serve at last year’s Estate Agency of the Year awards sponsored by the Sunday Times, when we received the award for Corporate Social Responsibility.”
