The Grange, one of the most eagerly awaited residential developments in Leeds, is opening its doors to potential buyers this weekend (November 29 and 30).
The former Pudsey Grangefield School on Richardshaw Lane has stood empty since it closed in 2008 but now, with the conversion of the Grade II listed building into luxury apartments for the over 55s well advanced, the developer has decided it is time to invite people to come and take a closer look.
Sandeep Gupta, a former pupil of the school, who bought the building at auction said the building had undergone a transformation while managing to retain a lot of its character.
He said: “‘I think people will be amazed when they see the transformation. It is a beautiful building with a rich history, so we have been careful to ensure that the conversion has been carried out in a sympathetic way, while at the same time creating a unique community environment.”
Once building work is complete, The Grange will incorporate 49 apartments, offering a choice of one, two and three bedrooms.
Each will be superbly specified, including integrated kitchen appliances, solid oak flooring to the kitchen, non-slip flooring to the bathroom/wet room and quality fitted sanitary ware.
With resident safety and peace of mind a key priority, a 24 hour emergency alarm system linked to the on-site team is also standard to every apartment.

The old Pudsey Grangefield School building was closed when the school received funding to build a new school on its playing fields, which are to the rear.
