As the interest and excitement begins to gather pace for the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire, one Yorkshire business is launching a competition to show its support and ‘Get Yorkshire Cycling’.
Leading housebuilder Miller Homes which has ten developments across the region, is offering one lucky winner the chance to win a £600 voucher from Don Valley Cycles in Doncaster, supplier of high quality road and mountain bikes.
“Tour de Yorkshire is going to be a fantastic event for the whole county and we wanted to show our support by encouraging as many people as possible to take to two wheels and discover just what Yorkshire has to offer its cyclists,” said Steve McElroy sales director Miller Homes Yorkshire. “Several of the Yorkshire Miller Homes team cycle to work or socially at weekends and it’s a great way to keep fit whilst commuting or enjoying relaxation time with friend and family.”
The competition will run from 3rd April to 4th May and is open to all visitors to Miller Homes’ developments across the region during that time. Simply fill in a form with your details and the winner will be randomly chosen and notified by Friday 8th May. Throughout the month Miller Homes, in conjunction with Don Valley Cycles, will be providing top tips on cycling in Yorkshire including the best routes for families and some challenging trails for the more adventurous, via its social media pages and blog.
Tour de Yorkshire commences in Bridlington, 1st May, and passes through some stunning coastal scenery with Stage 1 finishing in Scarborough. Stage 2 encompasses a sprint route between Selby and York, with Stage 3 taking to the hills between Wakefield and Leeds.
“We’re delighted to support Miller Homes in their quest to ‘Get Yorkshire Cycling’ and discover the enjoyment and health benefits it can bring to people of all ages and abilities,” said Martin Maltby Proprietor Don Valley Cycles and Sponsor of Doncaster Wheelers Cycling Club. “It’s a great way to get fit, stay fit, explore the fantastic scenery in Yorkshire and meet lots of new people.”
Doncaster Wheelers were also the lucky winners of last year’s Miller Homes’ ‘Summer of Sport’ campaign, which sees local sports clubs pitch for a £500 prize to develop their club, train staff or buy new equipment.
Miller Homes has ten developments across the region with properties ranging from two bedroom apartment to five bedroom luxury homes. Prices start from just £89,995 for a two bedroom apartment.
