Leeds DJ It's Danny T sells out headline gig at the O2

The summer sell out at The Church.

Just four months after playing the biggest gig of his career, a Leeds DJ is set to do it all again on Saturday - but twice as big.

Danny T has sold out the O2 Academy for his own headline gig and is collaborating with one of the biggest club promoters in the country for an after party as he signs off his summer in style.

The 2,700 tickets were snapped up more than a month ago, with 900 on a waiting list, and it was the T Party night he held at the Church nightclub last June that upped the ante.

It was selling out that night that made the O2 take notice of Danny Taylor from Cookridge who started out playing “the worst gigs in Leeds”.

He said: “It doesn’t matter how good a DJ you are if you can’t sell tickets. You do this sort of thing to prove your value and I want to see how big I can go - it is a bit like an addiction.“I have been on stages in front of 8,000 people but playing on stage to 1,500 at The Church and 2,700 on Saturday where every person is there just to see you is like the Bieber factor. The noise is uncomparable, it is crazy.”

His followers can expect classic Danny T material on Saturday and surprises.

He added: “I could do a normal set but have really focussed on it so there is stuff I know will work and stuff they will never have heard in a club.”

Exclusive material will be released after and videos will be filmed on the night.

With summer over Taylor is looking to spend time in the studio creating his own tracks to release.

He is on stage at 8.45pm and the T Party after-party is being held at Mission with Sleepin Is Cheatin.
