Zoopla has revealed its top five most viewed properties in Yorkshire since the housing market reopened for business. Properties from across the region feature in the line-up and prices range from a £160,000 house in Leeds to a multi-million home near Huddersfield.

Top of the list with over 6,000 virtual views in the past month is Lower Scout, a five-bedroom, Grade II listed house close to the village of Marsden, which is on the market for £2.5m. With a backdrop of heather moorland, it boasts a contemporary glazed extension and no-expense-spared interiors. Outside, this rural idyll has its own lake and a waterfall

At the other end of the price spectrum and in fifth place is a more modest two bedroom, semi-detached house in Leeds. The property, which is in the popular residential location of Middleton, has a guide price of £159,995 and has a good-sized garden, open-plan kitchen and dining area. It has attracted 3,838 views.

With most properties on the list priced at £325,000 or less, the viewing figures demonstrate the average budget of the Yorkshire buyer. Zoopla says: "Affordability is at the forefront of buyers’ minds now the market has reopened, indicating that many Brits are favouring attainability over aspiration."

The property portal has seen a huge boost in consumer demand for properties since the housing market reopened. Its latest data shows that, since May 13, a home hunter sent a new enquiry to an estate agent every 1.1 seconds. Zoopla’s busiest day was recorded on June 6, with would-be buyers spending 207,000 hours on the site.

Tom Parker, consumer spokesperson at Zoopla, says: “It’s great to see a wide range of locations included in our list of most viewed properties in Yorkshire since the market reopened four weeks ago, including Leeds, Sheffield and Barnsley. What’s more, the wide range of homes in the list is a promising indication that people are browsing the market with an intent to buy, something that will be of relief to vendors across the UK.”
