Variety, the children’s charity, which has organised the awards for 19 years has revealed that three ‘Game Changers’ are to be identified by a new panel of industry professionals who are themselves held in high regard in Yorkshire’s commercial property community.

The qualifying projects or deals, will demonstrate a material effect on the surrounding environment or on the market, which are worthy of praise and which show excellence in conception, design and executive.

Alongside the ‘Game Changers’ the awards will also recognise ‘Best Large Agency’, ‘Best Small Agency’, ‘Best Architect’, ‘Deal of the Year’ and ‘Personality of the Year’. The event, taking place on May 5 at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate, is supported by Addleshaw Goddard as main sponsor alongside Walker Morris, Barclays, Richard Boothroyd Associates, Thorpe Park Leeds, NORR, Quod, Interserve and Aldi.

Duncan Syers, Chairman of Variety, The Children’s Charity in Yorkshire said, “This event is one of the most established in the country and is once again a sell out with over 850 guests attending.

“However, we actively take on board feedback from the industry and feel the need to evolve to ensure the concept remains unique, fresh and relevant.

“We have opened up our judging panel to include nearly 40 people that are highly regarded in the industry and they will make the informed judgement for our worthy winners.”

Variety will announce a call for entries next week. A shortlist of six ‘Game Changers’, will be presented to the carefully selected panel who will vote for the three winning schemes.
