However, the venue has now reopened for takeaways from Wednesday to Saturday.

They will be open from 11.30am to 8pm.

Customers can have their food delivered via the website, Just Eat or Deliveroo and also collect the food in store.

NHS staff will be offered a 50 per cent discount on food as a "sign of appreciation" for their hard work.

Staff will need to show an NHS badge to get the discount.

A spokeswoman said the priority in each restaurant is to protect customers and staff.

Social distancing signage and protective screens have been installed and as well as the traditional takeaway service a click and collect system is being used to manage orders for delivery and collection.

Other fish and chip shops in Yorkshire owned by the Catch Group have also reopened.

The Catch restaurants in Holmfirth and West Vale have reopened as well as Graveley's in Harrogate.

Sarah Stuttle, Managing Director of Catch commented “We are extremely grateful to our loyal team of dedicated staff who have supported us with the re-opening and enabled us to open safely this weekend.

"Our first weekend of opening under these new circumstances went very well and customer feedback has been superb.”
