To order, fans of the Portuguese chicken restaurant can go to the website or use the Deliveroo app.

The Leeds restaurant is one of only 29 sites to reopen in the UK, with the only other Yorkshire reopening at the West Street branch in Sheffield.

Nando's said that it has procedures in place to protect customers and staff.

The company said: "We have now begun firing up the grills again in a select number of restaurants across the UK for Delivery, with most Nando’s also offering Collect. For the time being we will not be offering our Eat In service.

"It’s really important to us that our restaurants are a safe place to be for both our customers and our staff. To make sure that’s the case, we’ve created a safety pledge.

"Here’s some changes we’ll be introducing:

"- We’ll be checking in with staff before they work a shift to make sure they feel fit and well enough to come to work.

"- We’ll be reducing the number of people working within the restaurant to make sure they can stay 2m apart.

"- We’ll be reducing our opening hours and our menu (but don’t worry, your favourite PERi-fixes should still be available!).

"- We won’t be accepting walk in or phone orders right now to make sure contact is kept to a minimum. We’ll also only be taking contactless payment too.

"- As well as daily hygiene briefings to keep safety top of mind, we’ll also be increasing cleaning practises within the restaurant including hand washing at regular intervals. We’ll also be providing customers and delivery riders with hand sanitizer.

"- Face coverings are available for our team members who wish to wear them (they’re not those needed by NHS or healthcare professionals)."
