New for this year, the festival is hosting a Live Taks Marquee which will serve as an area for festival attendees to engage with speakers on a range of subjects, including food, nutrition and wellbeing.

“We have selected the speakers based on three core principles at the festival - great food, local business and mental health," explains Michael Johnston, festival director.

"Each of the speakers fit into at least one of these core principles and many fit into all of them."

Other speakers include Simon Chappelow of Leeds Cookery School, who will perform a demo and talk through the work of Leeds Cookery School, and Leeds based community charity Zest Health for Life.

International chef and head of Slow Food Chef Alliance, Jason Hartley, is speaking on both days of the festival and will explore the contrasts between social deprivation in the North of England, and the phenomenal farmers and producers located here.

“We are thrilled with this new addition for the 2018 festival," Johnston adds.
