8 new restaurant and bar openings coming to Leeds in 2018

Leeds already boasting a thriving dining scene and with these exciting new additions on their way in 2018, the city's food and drink offering is set to get even better.

From fine dining eateries to mouth-watering street food, there's plenty of delicious delights due to land in Leeds this year.

The Ivy

Whisperings of the world famous restaurant brand setting up home in the city caused quite the stir and with the rumours confirmed to be true, foodie fans can look forward to the glamourous arrival later this year.

Set to open in Victoria Leeds, the menu promises to feature an array of British dishes drawn from The Ivy's own extensive menu, including three course meals and lighter afternoon teas, to provide diners with a great range of choice.

Broadley's Bistro

Soon to be Ilkley's newest independent bistro and wine bar, this swanky eatery will offer a tasty, locally sourced menu crafted by award-winning chef, Matthew Broadley.

Having previously worked as head chef at The Devonshire Arms Brasserie, The Wheatley Arms and The Black Hat, diners can expect the menu to be of the highest quality, which can be enjoyed in the heart of the picturesque spa town.

Fat Hippo

They proved to be a culinary hit after their short stint in Trinity Kitchen in 2016 and now Fat Hippo are due to return to the city permanently in 2018.

Renowned for their loaded juicy burgers, which include unqiue combinations such as the Peanut Butter and Jelly and the Born Slippy (topped with pulled pork ribs, cheese, jalapeños and chilli jam), it's set to become the city's new ultimate comfort food eatery.

Mowgli Street Food

Having already successfully launched in Manchester and Liverpool, this popular street food eatery will make its way to Trinity Leeds this year with an exciting menu of Indian small plates that pack plenty of flavour.

Expect a superb range of curries, tasty meat dishes and desserts, with dedicated gluten free and vegan menus to choose from as well.

Coffee on the Crescent

This up and coming addition to Hyde Park corner is the creation of former professional cricketer, Tim Linley, who wants the venue to serve as a relaxed and welcoming meeting space for people to catch up over a cup of joe.

North Star Coffee Roasters have been enlisted to deliver the perfect brew and there will be a selection of cakes and sandwiches to enjoy from local producers. Visitors can also expect to find local artists, musicians, authors and bakers regularly popping up at the venue.

Pancho's Burritos

With two sites already in Manchester, Pancho's Burritos are gearing up to expand their restaurant portfolio with a new base in Leeds this year.

Serving an array of tasty street food dishes, including tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and burritos, there will also be a range of Mexican craft and speciality beers, wine, tequila and soft drinks to wash it all down.

Yard & Coop

While it may only be operating on Deliveroo in Leeds at the moment, a fully fledged restaurant will be opening in the city very soon.

Known as the home of fried buttermilk chicken, there will be boneless thighs, breast, drumsticks and crumb-coated halloumi nuggets to choose from, which can then be topped with one of their mouth-watering sauces and accompanied by a helping of fries.

Merrion Street Sky Bar

Set to take the place of the former Mayaimi Club on Merrion Street, this new opening will encompass a contemporary bar and restaurant, complete with a stylish rooftop sky bar and terrace which will boast outdoor seating and an area to dine.
