Christmas is now less than two months away – and that’s official. Time to get making lists and coming up with ideas for gifts that will be appreciated by even the most critical of family members and friends (or is that just my family members and friends?).
Trekking across town and city, up the High Street and down it again, covering every square centimetre of every shopping mall within a 40-mile radius, all in search of those elusive perfect presents for one and all, is not everyone’s idea of how to spend the next eight – yes, that’s right, eight – weekends between now and Christmas Eve. Especially not when there is the small matter of your own festive fashion wardrobe to consider.
What’s needed is a place where you can park up and do the lot all at the same time. This is where a multi-brand fashion store like Outfit is a blessing, because you can shop a sizeable chunk of High Street fashion in one go, finding menswear, womenswear, shoes and accessories all under one roof.
There are 73 Outfit stores across the UK, including ones in York Monks Cross, Bradford, Hull and Rotherham, stocking Arcadia brands including Topshop, Wallis. Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Topman and Burton,
The first Outfit store opened in Nottingham in 1995 baput has now grown to the extent that those 73 stores have a total floor space of 13 football pitches, employing more than 3,000 employees.
Now the 74th Outfit store opens this Friday at Kirkstall Retail Park in Leeds. It will be 11,000 sq ft and will offer Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis for women, and also menswear collections from Burton and Topman, plus a footwear section.
Each brand will have its own showcase section within the store and there will also be a Collect-from-store service, run through all the Arcadia brands, so you can shop any of them online and then collect at your local Outfit store.
Wraps and capes are an excellent gift idea (you don’t have to worry about sizing), and Outfit has lovely ones in from Wallis for £30. And, because every man loves a festive jumper, Topman and Burton have plenty to pick from, plus there are novelty gifts, accessories and jewellery across the brands, as well as party wear galore to try on.
The new Leeds Outfit store will open with a day of activities this Friday at Kirkstall Road Retail Park, with the first 50 customers receiving a £10 gift card, plus there will be DJs, a free Topshop nail bar and gift card giveaways.
