7. Nellie
Nellie is bright and bubbly lad who is 3yrs old. He is really friendly with everyone and has a very playful personality. He is manageable around other dogs but needs to learn some manners as not all dogs appreciate his 'bull in a china shop' approach to saying hello! He's a smart lad who needs to be kept busy, so his adopters will need to keep him occupied with fun training tasks and exciting walks. He travels fine in a car and is already housetrained. In confident hands this super fun boy has loads of potential.
8. Edie
Edie is such a sweet girl who is great once she has a relationship with you, however she is very worried by unfamiliar people and takes time to build trust. She is more comfortable with females rather than males. Once there is a bond she is very interactive and affectionate. Unfortunately, she does not like being around other dogs so cannot share her home with any pets and must be walked in quiet areas where she won't have any dogs coming up to her. She loves to play with toys and is ace with her training. In the home, she is very clean, calm, and actually rather lazy!
9. Kaya
Kaya is a gorgeous pudding of a girl who at 11 months old still has some growing to do and lots of learning for the big wide world. As you can see from her pictures she does have some complex orthopoedic issues, these are life limiting. Kaya is looking for a home with very understanding owners who can take onboard her medical needs. This will all be discussed with our centre vet. She enjoys going out for walks and exploring but doesn't go for miles and miles. A good 35 minute mooch is great for her. Being young she could do with some basic training to help her learn new things.
10. Cheka
Cheka is a proper pint sized staffy who's heart was broken after losing her owner and her home. She took a while to settle into life at Dogs Trust but has truly turned a corner lately and is ready for the next chapter in her life. Cheka is around 8 but still has bags of energy so a large secure garden is a must for her to burn off some extra calories. Experience of staffies or other bull breeds is not essential but would help as she does need a little additional training around the harness and lead. Cheka is currently on medication for her skin which may be ongoing. Our vet will happily talk through the costs involved with this.
11. Billy
Billy is an energetic little lad who at 11 years young, shows no signs of slowing down. He loves his walks and likes to play but loves a good snuggle on the sofa (or in bed) too! Billy is worried when left on his own so needs understanding owners that are home with him all the time initially to help him settle and over time, help him to build his confidence around being left. Billy will need to be walked in quieter areas without many dogs around as he can be vocal on his lead.
12. Bertie
One look at Bertie's squishy face and you'll be smitten! He's 2 years old and full of character. Sadly, he led a very sheltered life due to the pandemic lockdown and when he arrived with us, he was already worried by unfamiliar people and places. He needs to expand his world very slowly and with a lot of care and patience. Other dogs are another worry for him and so he must be walked in quieter areas. If you take the time to slowly get to know him you will soon see that underneath he is wonderful boy who will always make you smile.
