Days Out: Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Take a walk on the wild side at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster - it's home to nearly 400 animals and 70 different species, from the only polar bears in England to majestic lions and tigers.

The award-winning park has awesome walkthrough enclosures which give visitors a chance to get closer to the animals than ever before, from walking with the Lemurs in Lemur Woods, hopping along in Wallaby Walkabout and feeling the Latin vibe in South America Viva. Most of the animals at the park are either endangered or threatened, so the team work closely with charities to help the conservation of endangered species in the wild and captivity.

There’s always something happening at the park, with Ranger talks and feeding times, plus opportunities for indoor and outdoor play in the Monkey Playhouse, the Zoom Superslide Barn, the Forest Adventure Play Area and the Big Bugs Play Area.

Feeling peckish? There are a range of different Café’s, eateries and snack bars located around the park, enjoy bistro cuisine in Safari Café, grab a quick bite to eat in Money Playhouse Café or add a touch of spice at Caramba Café in South America.

There’s also a chance for visitors to add a touch of retail therapy in the Safari Village, which has a range of great boutique stores and Safari Gift Shop.
