Have your say

As soon as Autumn arrives, the nights start to creep in and the world turns into a stunning shade of orange and brown, there is one thing on everyone’s mind – Halloween.

At the Tropical Butterfly House’s biggest and best event of the year, Halloween lasts so much longer than one day meaning the fear and the fun can go on and on.

Every weekend in October, and during half term, visitors can encounter the exotic and the scary at the centre’s Halloween Spooktacular.

If you think you’re brave enough, a visit to the haunted house and the new witch’s cottage will definitely get your adrenaline going and a trip on the ghoulish tractor trailer will take you on a trail through the Freaky Forest, bringing you face to face with ghosts and monsters.

However, if it’s not goosebumps you desire, then there is the more relaxed crafts and activities sessions that are suitable for children of all ages - pumpkin carving is a must at this time of year! There is also a whole host of animal encounters and free-flying bird shows taking place across the day that are simply spectacular.

The Halloween Fright Nights over Halloween weekend incorporate all of these events but this begins at 6.30pm and ends at 10pm, adding the further fright that darkness brings. Throughout all of October there is also the opportunity to have an extra special Halloween themed afternoon tea for two at the centre.

It’s all great fun though and if dressing up - there are prizes for the best dressed - and getting involved in all things Halloween is your thing, then look no further than the Tropical Butterfly House for a truly SPOOKtacular experience this October.
