Meet the new addition to the family with a visit to the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre – a Parma wallaby baby.

The baby was actually born around seven months ago but for the first six months of their lives they live in their mum’s pouch – so now is the first time you can get a good look at the tiny bouncer.

It’s an incredible opportunity for you to see a wallaby, as Animal Team Leader Abigail Carter explained: “In the wild Parma wallabies are only found in Australia, and New Zealand, and are classified on the IUCN Red List as Near Threatened, therefore it’s truly amazing for our visitors to be able to see these beautiful creatures up close.”

You might even be lucky enough to name the baby, as the wildlife centre is holding a competition on its social media channels – so once you’ve seen it for yourself, pick your favourite choice and wait to see if yours is chosen.

Of course, there are plenty of other residents to see during your visit - meet lemurs, meerkats, owls, otters and snakes, and witness spectacular displays featuring free-flying birds of prey, parrots and charismatic mammals.

Explore the indoor rainforest; home to butterflies, birds, bats, crocodiles and creepy-crawlies from around the world and meet and feed the friendly residents of the Farm Barn.

Children can work off some energy at the Realm of Camelot adventure playground, outdoor Wet Play Area, while mums and dads take a break at Lottie’s Coffee Lounge – so you can make your visit a treat for all the family.
