The last thing on most people’s minds when the British summer FINALLY decides to turn up for its cameo, is the next time they’ll see snow.
However, in Castleford it snows all year round. And trust me when I tell you, that’s a great thing.
Snozone, located inside the Xscape centre, is an outstanding all-weather attraction that promises to keep all generations entertained.
If you’ve always wanted to try snow sports or are looking to plan a skiing holiday then there is nowhere better to learn than Snozone.
Having taught 1.8 million people to ski and snowboard, their dedicated instructors will inspire you with confidence and have you skiing independently in no time.
It’s minus 5°C in there and warm clothes and gloves are essential, but you won’t feel the cold. The only thing on your mind when you’re flying down the slope will be how quickly can I get back up there and do it all again?
I recently took on the beginner’s course and with no prior experience, I was sceptical that I’d be able to get my skis on, never mind ski down the main slope (which is 170m long by the way).
However, in just a few hours our experienced and friendly instructor Alexa had taught us all we needed to know to ski with confidence. Amazing.
However, if lessons aren’t for you and it’s family fun you’re after then look no further. Sledging, ice sliding and Sno-Play sessions means that there are always ways to enjoy this winter wonderland, year-round in Yorkshire.
