Have your say

Britney Spears is coming to Scarborough? Yes, you did read that correctly. And yes, apparently she is... in August.

If you just can’t wait to visit the fabulous coastal town, there are plenty of fantastic reasons to visit now.

Learn all about life under the sea at Scarborough’s Sea Life Sanctuary. After setting sail through the entrance, make for the native coastline before venturing outside to see the sanctuary animals including the fantastic penguins.

Make your way back indoors and head beneath the waves through the impressive ocean tunnel, which is home to some awesome sharks.

One of the best things about this attraction is how interactive it is – there’s a rock pool where visitors can touch starfish, anemones and crabs and find out about some of their fantastic survival tricks.

Get to know the Asian Short Clawed Otters who call the centre home, Eric and Pumpkin. Eric is 19-years-old, making him the oldest Otter in the entire Sea Life estate, possibly the country. Otters in the wild have a life expectancy of 12 years.

Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary is home to Yorkshire’s only Seal Hospital, and each year they rescue over 30 common and grey seals from local coastal waters. You’ll be able to follow the journey of the injured Seals through their rescue from local coastal waters, through rehabilitation and eventually release back into the wild.

You may also get chance to see staff feeding some of the creatures – mealtime for the seals is a great spectacle as they are all vying for attention and really showing off.

You’ll have such a good time, you’ll be singing just like Britney… “Gimme more”.
