Days out in Yorkshire: Stockeld Park, Wetherby

Have your say

Head for adventure this summer at Stockeld.

Set in beautiful grounds just outside Wetherby between Leeds, York and Harrogate, Stockeld Park has become a well established attraction.

Not really knowing what to expect and how they could improve on the Christmas Adventure, we were intrigued – and we weren’t disappointed.

Replacing the Christmas-themed Nordic Skis were electric scooters, which you could explore the magical Enchanted Forest on – great fun.

My son quickly spotted a playground so naturally we hot footed it down and were spoilt for choice. He started by climbing the many farm vehicle-themed climbing areas then we discovered the inflatable pillow.

Essentially a huge bouncy pillow, it’s a revelation and we spent a good 20 minutes on this until our legs were sore.

Next up were go karts – our favourite bit. They offered three types, a small one for the young ones (perfect for three to four upwards), a double so you can carry young ones alongside and a big chopper. These were great and with the circuit in perfect condition, we spent nearly an hour on this.

Next up was the Enchanted Forest. We had already experienced the Christmas version so wasn’t sure how they could make it any different, but they certainly did.

We also spent a good hour or two making our way through this beautiful part of the estate and thoroughly enjoy what it offered.

All-in-all a fantastic day out, offering something for all ages including adults. Better still, it works if it’s wet too with plenty of indoor activities to keep the kids happy.
