Have your say

If you like tricks, then you’re in for a treat with a Grimm night out that will leave you feeling ghoulish.

Lightwater Valley theme park’s ever popular shocks and scares go into the afterlife from October 31 to November 2 for their Frightwater Valley experience.

Spine-chilling scares won’t be confined to the usual rollercoasters as the park takes on an eeriness, complete with makeover and spooky characters wondering around looking to scare you all the way back to the car park.

If the ghosts, monsters and general creepy folk don’t scare you witless, then the rollercoaster rides in the dark surely will.

Best bet is head there for sundown and really get into the spirit of the occasion!

But if you’d rather handle the horrors in broad daylight then there’s always that option. The tagline this year is the darker the night, the scarier the fright!

Lightwater is great for the entire family with it’s mix of easy going and high octane rides – 10 extreme, 13 less fierce but fun, and 11 perfect for the little ones.

Standouts are The Ultimate (Europe’s longest coaster), the underground Raptor Attack and the stomach churning Whirlwind (a personal favourite).

Skeleton Cove is another fun part for pirates seeking treasure chests of fun. It’s also home to the Black Pearl – a 360 degree ride that looked a bit too choppy for me!

The little kids’ rides are brilliant too, from spinning teacups and animals to a tractor ride through Eagle’s Creek Farm – all ready-made memory makers.

The park is immaculate, well maintained lands and pathways and clean, plentiful eateries – and it also has a genteel boating lake.
