If you’re keen to blow off the cobwebs and soak up some scenery this Christmas, Leeds has plenty of beautiful spots to enjoy a leisurely stroll. From historic estates, to enchanting woodland, here are 11 walking trails to take a wander down this festive season.
1. Harewood House
There are more than 100 acres of gardens to explore in the grounds of this attractive stately home, including the Bird Gardens, where you can see exotic species including penguins, owls, flamingos and parrots.

2. Lotherton Hall
The 12 Days of Christmas Woodland Walk is open to explore until 9 January 2021 and follows a magical route along lit paths through the Captains Wood, with a secret fairy hideaway to discover as you go.

3. Chevin Forest Park
Overlooking the market town of Otley, this large park has an impressive network of paths to explore, with magnificent panoramic views of the Wharfe Valley - perfect for both a stroll and a scenic picnic, weather permitting..

4. Adel Dam Nature Reserve
This wonderful beauty spot sits tucked away next to Golden Acre Park and allows visitors to stroll along a landscape of woodland and trees, spotting various birds across the lake as you go, including woodpeckers and kingfishers.
