Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford pays visit to Beeston Juniors after renovation project

The Whites and shirt sleeve sponsor JD Sports have come together to completely renovate and refurbish the football club that lies in the shadows of Elland Road stadium.

Bamford - who is enjoying some downtime following the conclusion of the Premier League season - visited the local team and hosted a shooting masterclass with around 25 of the club's young players during half-term.

The work at the club has seen new flooring, ceiling and doors put in while a refitted kitchen has been installed alongside new changing room facilities and furniture for the clubhouse.

The Leeds United Foundation have worked alongside local company Gray and Sons and the community to give the football club a new lease of life.

"One of the things that sticks with me from when I was at primary school was two of the Nottingham Forest players - I think it was David Prutton and Gareth Williams - coming to one of the summer camps," Bamford said during the visit.

"That memory has stuck with me forever, so I know how much it means to kids this age.

"I don't think as a footballer you ever pinch yourself and say, 'Wow, I'm a footballer', but as I've grown older I've started to realise how I can make more of an impact and give a lot more back to the community."

JD also provided prizes and merchandise for the families and players in attendance while Bamford handed out awards and spent time signing autographs and posing for photographs with supporters.

Leeds United's Foundation will now continue to work closely with Beeston Juniors, hosting coaching sessions and holiday camps at the brand new facilities.

Also showing their support for the project were youngsters from the Foundation’s NCS programme, as part of their Action Day project they teamed up with local artist and Leeds fan Burley Banksy to design and paint colourful artwork outside the revamped building.
