Much-loved fashion giant C&A - known affectionately as 'Coats and Ats' to shoppers - stood tall as a go to destination for bargain-hunters for decades. The majority of these images were taken at the Boar Lane store in June 2000 after it was announced the brand was to disappear from the high street. The store closed the following year with others around West Yorkshire including Wakefield's Ridings Centre and Bradford. Your YEP asked the members of Leeds Retro, our facebook group dedicated to celebrating the city's rich history and heritage to share their shopping memories. They accompany these photos from the plucked from the YEP archive and feature some fab stories. READ MORE: 12 photos you'll only understand if you shopped at Readmans LOVE LEEDS? LOVE NOSTALGIA?
