How Concorde proved a soaraway success at Leeds Bradford Airport

The iconic supersonic passenger airliner made 60 visits to Leeds Bradford Airport through the years.

It boasted a maximum speed of over twice the speed of sound, at Mach 2.04 - 1,354 mph or 2,180 km/h at cruising altitude - with seating for 92 to 128 passengers. These photos are a mix from the YEP archive and those published courtesy of members from the Air Yorkshire Aviation Society. They aim to celebrate the majesty of this magnificent flying machine during the years it touched down at Leeds Bradford in front of huge crowds.
