“This morning we experienced an electrical issue that triggered generators across the LGI site. Power to some areas was disrupted which meant having to postpone some procedures and appointments to ensure patient safety. We apologise to any patients affected by this.
"Power to the majority of our LGI site has now been restored with most of our services returning to normal. Urgent and emergency procedures have safely continued throughout.
"I’d like to thank all of our staff who have worked hard to ensure minimal disruption to our patients and we hope to return all services back to normal as soon as possible.”
A power cut is affecting the site and the nearby University of Leeds, although the infirmary has back-up generators which enable emergency care to still take place.
Patients have been advised to avoid LGI unless they require urgent treatment.

"We're having some electrical difficulties at LGI which means we have had to postpone some procedures and appointments. Patients will be contacted directly. Arrangements are in place to ensure safe delivery of care for patients in hospital.
"Please consider using alternative services if you do not need emergency care. Our teams are working hard to return services back to normal as soon as possible."
