The evening on March 30 will raise cash for Yorkshire Cancer Research - and boost diners' knowledge of the sub-continent's cuisine.

The star guest on the night is cookery writer Kaushy Patel, founder of the Prashad brand, who will be giving a talk about Indian culture. Guests will have the chance to sample dishes and there will be an auction with prizes including cookery classes, a meal for two and a food hamper.

The cancer charity is also sending representatives to give a presentation about the disease and the fight against it in Leeds.

Ellie Hill, regional fundraiser at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with Prashad this year. Together, we want to raise awareness of cancer issues so we can begin to help more people avoid, survive and cope with this devastating disease. This event will provide a perfect opportunity to not only raise money for our research projects, but also engage with the public.”
