NHS makes appeal for blood donors to come forward over Christmas

NHS Blood and Transplant is appealing to blood donors to help save lives by booking a festive appointment in Leeds.

The team has organised a donor session from 8.20am to 4.05pm on Tuesday, December 31 at 117 The Headrow, but it is currently only 20 per cent full.

Christmas is not a time for the NHS to stop – patients need life-saving blood all year round. It’s vital that anyone who books to give blood this Christmas period sticks to their appointment.

Each donation can save up to three lives.
