They made the call as students prepare to take a much needed break from school.

Information about the services - along with advice and resources - can be found on MindMate at www.mindmate.org.uk, the local mental health website for young people.

Dr Jane Mischenko, lead commissioner for children and maternity at NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “This half-term will be a well-deserved break for students, who have adapted to significant changes in their school life amid the pandemic.

"However, we know that there will be young people struggling during this time. We want to remind them that mental health services in Leeds will still be open next week to offer support.

“The MindMate website has a wealth of resources that young people can use for support and advice, as well as directing them to the relevant services.

"We’ve also set up a page specifically around how you can take care of your mental wellbeing during the coronavirus outbreak.

“MindMate also has a variety of resources specifically for parents and carers, with advice on how you can provide emotional support to your child, all recommended and approved by parents in Leeds. We want young people and their parents or carers to know that support is still here for them during this uncertain time.”
