Leeds Council opens new gym in Middleton Leisure Centre

A new gym has opened in south Leeds - with memberships starting from just £16.95 per month.

The Active Leeds gym has opened in Middleton Leisure Centre and includes 70 exercise stations, a free weights area and new personal fitness programmes which includes the offer of a free body composition analysis to users.

In addition to the new gym, the current exercise studio at the centre has also been transformed with new décor and improved acoustics and a new reception.

Social distancing and extra cleaning measures are currently in place at Middleton Leisure Centre and all Leeds City Council leisure centres.

Middleton Leisure Centre already offers a 3G football pitch, squash courts, sports hall, fitness studio and a soft play space for children under eight.

Leader of Leeds City Council, Councillor Judith Blake said: “I’m delighted that the new gym has now officially opened at Middleton Leisure Centre.

"During what continue to be testing times, the opening of this top class facility which boasts a range of state-of-the-art equipment, demonstrates our commitment to helping the people of Leeds live healthy lives.
