The stars are joined by TV presenter Steph McGovern, football pundit Chris Kamara, singer Gareth Gates, comedian Paul Chuckle and many other celebrities from Yorkshire and beyond to say thank you to doctors, nurses, healthcare and support staff who will be working under difficult conditions to look after coronavirus patients in the new hospital in Harrogate.

Hotelier Simon Cotton, who helped create the emotional video, said: "Eight hours ago, a friend of ours in the NHS challenged actor Neil Grainger and I to bring together messages of support for the amazing staff due to start work this weekend at the Nightingale Hospital Yorkshire and the Humber, based in Harrogate.

"We were overwhelmed by the response and a video has been created to show all the NHS staff who are being Inducted this week; to show them how much people care and are rooting for them on the front line.

"The video has been both moving and motivating for the brilliant Nightingale team."

The Nightingale hospital has been built in Harrogate Convention Centre and has begun recruiting staff across Harrogate, Leeds and York.

The NHS is also looking for volunteers who may not have a medical background to carry out support roles.
