A total of 4,313 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Friday, the Department of Health said, up from 3,605 the day before.

Coronavirus deaths across Yorkshire have risen by 40.

Three more deaths were confirmed in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust hospitals by Public Health England.

Public Health England said of the extra 637 English deaths in hospitals, patients were aged between five years and 104 years old.

The number testing positive for COVID-19 in the UK as a whole has risen to 41,903, as of 9am on Saturday, after 183,190 have been tested.
