The latest Yorkshire Covid infection rate as cities and towns put in Tier 2 lockdown

Cities and towns across Yorkshire have been placed into the 'Tier 2' category as part of the new lockdown tier system announced by the Government.

Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Middlesbrough and Sheffield are in the 'High' alert Tier 2 bracket. Everywhere else in Yorkshire is in the 'Medium' Tier 1 category where no extra restrictions are in place aside from the national ones, such as the rule of six. These are the 10 Yorkshire areas with the highest weekly coronavirus infection rates, listed in descending order. The figures, for the seven days to October 9, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
