Mindfulness is a form of mental training, when we practice mindfulness regularly we build a capacity to become aware of thinking and emotion, as our mind becomes more settled our nervous system can take in more accurate information and we access capacities for creativity, flexibility and lateral thinking, which enables us to manage challenging situations more skilfully.

Mindfulness has transformed the lives of key individuals such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

Bernie said: "Managing mental health and well-being has never been as important as it is now, over the last 30 months we’ve worked with over 500 customers in a wide range of sectors, including charities, commercial and education.

"Our programmes have made a tangible impact on the mental health and resilience of the people we’ve worked with, our simple and straightforward techniques offer real practical solutions for our customers.

“For many of us that haven’t been working on the frontline or been devastated by financial ruin or loss of a loved one; the Covid- 19 pandemic enforced us to press pause on our increasingly busy lives.

“For those on the brink of exhaustion, completely frazzled with little time for friends and family, let alone themselves the pandemic may have actually saved them.

“As the lockdown restrictions start to be lifted, it might be a good time to reflect and make a conscious decision, which elements of lockdown you want to carry forward into the new world and those you’d rather leave behind:

L – listening to the ones you love and not taking them for granted

O – organising what’s important in life

C – compassion for parents and community

K – kick starting your fitness regime with Jo Wicks

D – date nights and dress down days

O – observing the beauty of the outdoors and being open to learning new things

W – whether it’s walking or watching “Tiger King”

N – noticing the small things in life and being so grateful for them

She added: “As we venture out into the new world there’s no better time to embark on your very own mindfulness journey.

“Practicing mindfulness regularly helps you to pause, take control and notice what’s right in front of you; it empowers you to become mentally tougher; enabling you to adapt and navigate whatever’s on the horizon.”
