'Scared isn't the word': Leeds 23-year-old mum-of-four diagnosed with coronavirus

Shaunna Lazar, 23, was tested at St James Hospital on Monday.

She told the Yorkshire Evening Post the test results had returned positive on Wednesday, March 25.

Shaunna, from Seacroft described how she first showed symptoms on Sunday.

She said: "My symptoms are severe eye and head pain.

"I have had difficulty breathing.

"I have had pain in the chest and tiredness.

"My fever is very high but I also get chills."

Shaunna - whose eldest child is six-years-old - said she was unsure how she had contracted the virus as she had been self-isolating and following Government advice.

She has now had to start distancing herself from her children following the positive diagnosis - although has been told to remain inside at all times due to the result.

Shaunna described how her symptoms had worsened since the weekend.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, she added: "I'm feeling pretty rough.

"My head and chest are the worst."

In a social media post, Shaunna told her friends and family she had tested positive and has since received a lot of support.

In an earlier post, Shaunna said scared 'isn't the word' for how she was feeling.

The post read: "Been feeling like I’ve been hit by a bus since Sunday, temperature up to 39, severe headache, chills, short of breath and chest tightness.

"Been tested for Coronavirus just waiting on results.

"Scared isn’t the word."
