One further confirmed death in Yorkshire hospitals

There has been one further coronavirus death in Yorkshire hospitals, according to the latest figures.

The person died in hospitals under the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

They died on Thursday, August 6.

Nine other people died outside of the Yorkshire region.

Three people died in Birmingham, two people died in North Cumbria, one person died in Luton, one person died in north west Anglia, one person died in Barking and one person died in Sandwell and west Birmingham.

Patients were aged between 45 and 89 years old.

All had known underlying health conditions.

The total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England is 29,411.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28 NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
