More than 500 coronavirus patients discharged from Leeds hospitals and return to families

Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust revealed that 515 patients who had been diagnosed with coronavirus have now been discharged.

The Trust tweeted: "Thanks to the care and dedication of our teams, these patients are now back with their loved ones to continue their recovery. #TheLeedsWay"

The announcement comes as four more deaths were announced in Leeds hospitals.

The total now stands at 290 deaths for the city.

Many Leeds residents took to social media to thank the NHS staff at the hospitals for their incredible work.

One said: "Brilliant to hear a bit of good news in these dark times."
