NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death at hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

Deaths were recorded at the following hospital trusts:

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 2

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 5

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 9

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 2

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust - 2

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 1

There were no new deaths announced in Leeds hospitals, for which the total deaths remains at 605.

This comes as it has been announced that vaccinations will be administered at dozens of hospital hubs from Tuesday – with people aged 80 and over, care home workers and NHS workers who are at higher risk the first to receive the jab.

Among the first 50 hospital trusts to receive doses of the Pfizer vaccine are Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There is still no guaranteed date for when care home residents will be vaccinated despite them being at the top of the priority list, with Health Secretary Matt Hancock saying there are “significant challenges” to overcome.

Logistical issues mean there are difficulties in getting the jab to residents, as the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine needs to be stored at minus 70C before being thawed out and can only be moved four times within that cold chain before being used.
