Police have cordoned part of York Road after one person was attacked with a knife.

They were taken to hospital but their injuries were not life threatening.

A police cordon remains in place.

Knife attack in Seacroft last night:

Police cordoned off an area of York Road in Seacroft last night following a knife attack.

The cordon appeared to be in place on the underpass of the roundabout that connects York Road and the A6120, near to the large Tesco store.

One person was stabbed and taken to hospital.

Their injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The details of the incident have been confirmed by West Yorkshire Police.

Police incident in Seacroft: Cordon after knife attack

Police have cordoned off an area of York Road in Seacroft following a knife attack.

One person has been stabbed and taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The details of the incident have been confirmed by West Yorkshire Police.

The case rate in the city continues to fall in latest infections update:

The latest rate was published as 170.8 cases per 100,000 people on February 16.

This is at a positivity rate of 8.1 per cent.

This is a fall from 176.6 cases per 100,000 people and a positivity rate of 8.2 per cent on February 15.

The CEO of Leeds Council Tom Riordan tweets the rates each day.

He pleaded for people to "stay in unless essential, keep distance when out, wear a mask when advised, wash hands regularly and take the vaccine if called".

Mr Riordan tweeted: "Leeds case rate down again to 170.8 per 100k (from 176.6) and positivity down to 8.1% (from 8.2%).

"Please stay in unless essential, keep your distance when out, wear a mask when advised, wash hands regularly and take the vaccine if called."

The rate has been falling steadily for over a week now, and the rate 'broke through the 200 barrier' on February 12.

The recent rates recorded by Mr Riordan:

February 16: 170.8

February 15: 176.6

February 14: 192.1

February 13: 192.4

February 12: 196.8

February 11: 202.5

February 10: 208.9

February 9: 209.4

February 8: 210.8

There were 11 new Covid deaths recorded by Leeds hospitals in the latest daily update:

10 of the recorded deaths were patients in hospitals part of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and one patient died in a hospital part of the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
