The CEO of Leeds Council, Tom Riordan, tweets the figures each day.

He branded this daily infection rate fall as 'good news' and urged people to stay in, keep distance and take up the vaccine as 'the faster the rate will fall and the sooner we'll be out of restrictions'.

Mr Riordan tweeted: "Mon good news - Leeds case rate down to 176.6 per 100k (from 192.1) and positivity down to 8.2% (from 8.6%).

"The more of us who stay in unless essential, keep our distance & take up the vaccine when called then the faster the rate will fall & sooner we’ll be out of restrictions."
