Leeds Council bins: Everything you need to know about collection during coronavirus lockdown

With the city in lockdown, Leeds Council has cut some of its services in line with the new restrictions on movement.

Bin collections are still running on Tuesday, but with some changes.

Here is everything you need to know:

Green and black bins

For now, green and black bins are being collected as normal.

Leeds Council is continuing to monitor the situation and changes to collection may be made.

Garden waste (brown bins)

All brown bin collections are suspended until further notice.

Garden waste must not be put in your black or green bins. If you do they won’t be collected.

Public litter bins

Litter bins will not be emptied until further notice.

The council urges you NOT to use these bins.

Household waste and recycling

All council waste and recycling centres are closed until further notice.

Unwanted item collections

The council is no longer collecting unwanted bulky items from households and existing bookings are being cancelled.

You will be contacted about a refund in the next few days.

Street cleaning

The council has reduced street cleaning activities such as litter picking and sweeping.
